[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] The High-ranking Officials Ethics Committee disclosed the asset registration details of 23 high-ranking officials, revealing that Hong Won-hwa, President of Kyungpook National University, reported assets worth over 4.6 billion KRW, the highest among them.
According to the High-ranking Officials Ethics Committee on the 29th, as of midnight, the assets of 23 high-ranking officials were made public through the Republic of Korea Electronic Gazette. This is the first asset disclosure of the year. The disclosure includes 7 newly appointed high-ranking officials, 5 promoted officials, and 9 retired officials, totaling 23 individuals.
Among current high-ranking officials, those with the highest assets were Hong Won-hwa, President of Kyungpook National University under the Ministry of Education (4.60571 billion KRW), Kim Young-sim, Standing Member of the Central Administrative Appeals Committee of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (3.35503 billion KRW), and Hong Hee-kyung, Director of the Korea Culture Information Service under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (2.88382 billion KRW).

Among retirees, those with the highest assets were Lim Jong-guk, former Vice President of Management at Korea Gas Corporation under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (2.15413 billion KRW), Won Kwang-yeon, former Chairman of the National Research Council of Science & Technology under the Ministry of Science and ICT (2.14355 billion KRW), and Park Soon-cheol, former Chief Prosecutor of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office (1.18837 billion KRW).
