According to Daedong Industrial, since last year, it has been carrying out DT innovation activities across research and development (precision agriculture), production (smart factory), and distribution (logistics innovation). In addition, it is simultaneously conducting projects to build a global ERP (SAP) and MES, which form the foundation of digital work methods.
To efficiently promote and manage DT innovation activities, Daedong Industrial established an integrated IT dedicated organization called the 'DT Promotion Team' in the fourth quarter of last year, consisting of the DT Strategy Team, ERP Promotion Team, and Smart Factory Team. Following this, it recruited Executive Director Kwon Kijae to lead this organization.
Kwon Kijae, head of the DT Promotion Team, is an expert who officially introduced "Smart Working" in Korea. In 2010, while at KT, Kwon established an innovation execution organization that integrated and innovated corporate work systems, processes, culture, workspaces, and ICT infrastructure, thereby defining the concept and effective implementation methods of "Smart Working." Since 2018, he has planned, developed, and commercialized 5G-based platform services covering both B2B and B2C at KT.
Daedong Industrial plans to accelerate the transformation of work methods by driving digital innovation centered on Kwon and the DT Promotion Team, and to further solidify an organizational culture of communication, collaboration, and creativity for future agriculture. Furthermore, based on an integrated ICT infrastructure encompassing the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud, big data, and artificial intelligence (AI), it aims to pioneer new business areas in smart agricultural machinery and precision agriculture, aspiring to become a ‘global leading company in future agriculture.’
