Hyup-eob I-eum-teo, 65 Project Collaborations Achieved Within 200 Days Since Opening in June Last Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 28th that it has selected six major "Collaboration Connection Hub" projects for the first half of 2021 and will support finding public and private institutions to jointly promote these projects through the Collaboration Connection Hub.
The major Collaboration Connection Hub projects were carefully selected through expert reviews from among 296 newly registered collaboration demand projects submitted by central government ministries, local governments, public institutions, and education offices to the Collaboration Connection Hub.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety plans to actively support finding desired collaboration partners starting with an online project briefing session to be held in February.
The "Collaboration Connection Hub" is an online space where, when collaboration with other institutions is required during project implementation, one can broadly find collaboration partners with the necessary capabilities (resources) and willingness.
It was launched in June last year at "Gwanghwamun 1st Street" to be actively used not only by the public sector such as central government ministries, local governments, and public institutions but also by private organizations, associations, and companies.
Last year, 372 collaboration demand projects were registered by public and private institutions in the Collaboration Connection Hub, and among them, 262 institutions expressed their intention to participate in 108 projects, leading to active consultations between institutions for collaboration. Additionally, within about 200 days since its launch, 65 projects completed detailed consultations between institutions and successfully finalized collaboration, drawing attention.
In particular, among the successfully established collaboration projects, public-private collaboration projects accounted for 56.9%, indicating that the Collaboration Connection Hub expanded the scope of collaboration, which had previously focused only within the public sector, to the private sector, thereby creating an opportunity to activate public-private collaboration.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety plans to continue holding "Collaboration Connection Project Briefings" on various topics this year as well to promote active collaboration, and will encourage participating institution officials by awarding the "Collaboration Talent Award (Minister of the Interior and Safety Commendation)."
