Jeonghee Kim, Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Member, Proposes 'Student Media Literacy Education Ordinance'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The "Jeollanam-do Office of Education Media Information Identification Education Ordinance," proposed by Kim Jeong-hee, Jeollanam-do Council member (Democratic Party of Korea·Suncheon 5), was approved as originally proposed at the Education Committee review of the 349th extraordinary session on the 27th.
This ordinance was prepared to help students exposed to indiscriminate media information correctly understand media information related to social issues, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate information identification abilities.
The main contents include establishing and implementing long-term and systematic policies and basic plans for media information identification education, and providing institutional grounds such as ▲teacher education and training ▲promotion projects ▲building cooperative systems.
Council member Kim Jeong-hee stated, "This was prepared to cultivate students' ability to understand the content delivered through media and critically think by judging the factuality of information."
