Jeonnam Fire Department Implements Compensation System for Fire Facilities Used in Firefighting Activities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) is implementing a compensation system for private resources provided for firefighting activities such as fire suppression.
According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters on the 27th, the "Jeollanam-do Ordinance on the Utilization and Support of Disaster Sites" specifies that support and compensation are possible for losses of human and material private resources provided for firefighting activities such as fire suppression and rescue.
If a civilian who used a fire extinguisher, etc., for firefighting activities claims compensation to the relevant fire station, they can receive compensation for the purchase cost of the used fire extinguisher after verification of the facts.
Claims for compensation must be made within six months from the day of the firefighting activity before the fire brigade's arrival.
In the past three years, there have been about 100 cases of compensation for private resource provision in Jeonnam, most of which were compensation supports for excavator mobilization at the request of fire agencies, and no compensation for fire extinguishers has been identified.
