Jeju Coast Guard Strengthens Proactive Preventive Measures Against Windstorms Originating from China
Preventive Measures Equivalent to a Typhoon with Waves Up to 5m
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Coast Guard announced that it will strengthen proactive marine accident prevention activities equivalent to those for typhoons as a storm warning is issued for all waters around Jeju Island on the 28th.
According to the Jeju Coast Guard on the 27th, due to a low-pressure system moving eastward near the Bohai Sea in China, temperatures will drop starting tomorrow, and strong gusts (maximum wind speed 20m/sec, wave height 2~5m) are expected in the waters around Jeju.
The Jeju Coast Guard has instructed distant fishing vessels to evacuate to safe waters and will restrict the departure of fishing boats from the preliminary warning stage, while also strengthening patrols of vulnerable coastal areas such as breakwaters and rocky shores.
Additionally, rescue teams will maintain immediate dispatch readiness to respond to isolation situations involving visitors to rocky shores and anglers.
