Gangdong-gu Provides Various Jobs to 3,227 Seniors
Record High Support of 11.7 Billion KRW: Enhancing Quality of Life for Seniors Through Social Participation via 52 Quality Jobs
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) is launching the '2021 Senior Job Project,' investing a record-breaking budget of 11.7 billion KRW to provide quality jobs and a vibrant old age to a total of 3,227 seniors through 52 projects.
In December last year, the district recruited participants by project type (▲Public Interest Activity ▲Social Service ▲Market Type) to support senior jobs in various fields such as public facilities and welfare facilities.
In particular, the budget for the senior job project was increased by 700 million KRW compared to last year, expanding recruitment for social service-type jobs, which have relatively longer working hours and are suitable for the new senior generation.
By type, senior participants include 2,795 in 35 public interest activity projects, 220 in 5 social service projects, and 212 in 12 market-type projects, with full-scale activities starting by project from February.
