Gwangju City, Recruiting Users for Community Service Investment Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 26th that it will recruit users for the Community Service Investment Project this year.
The Community Service Investment Project is being promoted to improve citizens' quality of life and create jobs by forming a social service market. It discovers social services that meet citizen demand and issues vouchers instead of cash to users, allowing them to choose the desired service and provider.
The fields being recruited this time include 19 projects such as child and youth psychological support services, family function enhancement healing services, middle-aged future vision academy, well-living programs for a happy old age, and customized health care services, with about 9,500 people to be recruited.
The target is households with a standard median income of 120-160% or less, and applicants must meet the income criteria for each project, age group, and household characteristics.
Recruitment is conducted by separating the recruitment period by service type to prevent the spread of and for the prevention of COVID-19. The periods are from the 28th to 29th for family, physical health, and middle-aged projects; February 1st for visual impairment massage services; February 2nd to 3rd for elderly and disabled projects; and February 4th to 5th for child and youth projects.
Additional recruitment for underfilled projects will be held on February 8th.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the local administrative welfare center within the recruitment period with an ID and the required documents for each project. If selected as a user, necessary services can be received from the Community Service Investment Project providers.

Ryu Mi-su, head of the Social Welfare Department of the city, said, “We will do our best to provide customized social services that satisfy citizens who have been restrained due to COVID-19,” and added, “Those who need the services should not miss the timing and apply within the registration period while observing social distancing.”
