[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Fire Station announced on the 24th that it conducted a joint special fire inspection of traditional markets with related organizations from the 19th to the 21st to prevent winter fires.
This special fire inspection was organized jointly by Jeju Fire Station, administrative districts, and the Electric and Gas Safety Corporation to inspect the maintenance and management status of fire, evacuation, fire prevention facilities, and electric and gas facilities at 14 traditional markets in Jeju City.
Jeju Fire Station plans to order corrective actions for any deficiencies found during the inspection period to be remedied within a specified time.
A Jeju Fire Station official urged, "Although various fire safety measures are being promoted to prevent fires in traditional markets, voluntary participation and interest in safety from market merchants are most important."
