Gwangju Buk-gu, Comprehensive Measures to Stabilize Livelihood Economy and Overcome COVID-19
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 24th that it will implement the ‘2021 Comprehensive Measures for Stabilizing the Livelihood Economy’ to support small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
In line with government policies aimed at reviving economic recovery, this comprehensive plan selects 52 tasks across five sectors: ▲administration and finance ▲small business owners and self-employed ▲small and medium enterprises ▲employment ▲disaster-vulnerable groups and welfare facilities, and promotes customized support measures by class and industry.
First, administrative support such as rapid execution of local finances, local tax reductions, use of the Gwangju Win-Win Card, and shopping at traditional markets will be carried out alongside activities to stimulate consumption.
Efforts will focus on stabilizing the management of small business owners and the self-employed through comprehensive consulting for small business owners, Buk-gu type stepping stone special guarantees, online sales channels and marketing education, and support for traditional markets and specialized shopping districts.
Direct and indirect support will also be provided, including priority purchase of small and medium enterprise products, special guarantees and interest difference compensation, and guidance on government corporate support systems.
To create jobs and revitalize employment, public sector job projects, youth job creation projects linked to companies, senior citizen jobs and social activity projects will be expanded, while support for disaster-vulnerable groups and welfare facilities will be strengthened through distribution of quarantine supplies to COVID-19 vulnerable facilities and emergency welfare for crisis households.
