Ahn Cheol-soo: "Suffering from Irrational Regulations... Will Make Maximum Efforts to Revitalize Reconstruction"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People’s Party, emphasized his commitment to revitalizing reconstruction projects.
On the 24th, Ahn visited Dongbu Green Apartments in Guro-gu, Seoul. The complex consists of 7 buildings with 174 households and is over 30 years old. The People’s Party explained, "The oldest building is over 45 years old and due to aging, there are safety threats to residents, including concentrated apartment issues and annual incidents of pipe bursts, making reconstruction urgent."
Ahn said, "Due to irrational reconstruction regulations, many citizens suffer not only inconvenience but also safety problems. Here, even though fire trucks have difficulty accessing the area, I personally saw and confirmed that residents face serious safety issues regarding various fires and disasters. Moving forward, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the central government will properly establish a consultation system to make reconstruction projects more active, and I will do my best to support this."
He added, "Even before that, we plan to take preliminary measures to ensure residents can live safely, including the introduction of mini fire trucks to address safety concerns."
