Wooyoung Development Donates 50 Bags of Rice for Low-Income Residents... Jongam-dong Autonomous Crime Prevention 2nd Unit Supports 600,000 Won in Scholarships
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Warm donation activities continue at the Jongam-dong Community Service Center (Director Lee Ki-young) in Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro).
On the 22nd, Wooyoung Development (CEO Yang Kyung-seon) delivered 50 bags of white rice to the community center, expressing their desire to donate to low-income residents.
Wooyoung Development has donated white rice every year before Lunar New Year and Chuseok for the past three years and has received a ‘Neighbor Helping Commendation’ for their efforts.
Despite the economic downturn caused by COVID-19, they participated again this year in the ‘Warm Winter with Hope Ondol’ project to help neighbors in greater need, raising the temperature of the ‘Love Thermometer.’
On the 14th, the Jongam-dong Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit 2 (Captain Sung Chun-kwon) delivered a scholarship fund of 600,000 won for children from low-income families. The unit has been recognized as the ‘Best Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit’ for its continuous volunteer activities in the community. Notably, they run the ‘Happiness of One Hundred Won’ project, where donations are pooled to support children from low-income families. Through this, two students who have received scholarships since their first year of high school are entering university this year.
Additionally, on the 12th, Jongam Church donated living support funds for North Korean defectors to the community center, bringing inspiration to the local area.
