Singer Wheesung Sentenced to 3 Years in Prison for 'Propofol Administration Charges'..."Admits to Charges"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The prosecution has requested a 3-year prison sentence for singer Wheesung (real name Choi Whee-sung, 39), who is accused of administering the sedative propofol.
According to the Andong Branch of Daegu District Court on the 22nd, the court held a trial on the 19th for Wheesung and his acquaintance A, who were indicted without detention by the prosecution on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
It was reported that Wheesung admitted to most of the prosecution's allegations at the hearing.
At the trial, the prosecution requested the court to sentence Wheesung to 3 years in prison.
He is accused of repeatedly administering propofol in December 2019.
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency, while verifying drug-related intelligence, detected circumstances indicating that Wheesung purchased propofol, and after investigating him without detention, referred the case to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment in April of last year.
