[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Samsung Electronics announced on the 21st that six home appliance products, including the AI-powered robot vacuum cleaner 'Jetbot AI,' the 'Bespoke Family Hub' refrigerator, the 'Grande AI' washer and dryer, and the Wind-Free air conditioner Gallery and Wall-mounted Wide, have obtained the 'AI+ Certification' administered by the Korea Standards Association.
The AI+ Certification is a certification that proves the quality of products applying AI technology based on international standards from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), administered by the Korea Standards Association. It undergoes a rigorous evaluation process, including on-site assessments to verify software quality such as product reliability, functional suitability, security, and whether a continuous quality improvement system is established according to international quality management standards.
The Jetbot AI robot vacuum cleaner is the world's first to apply Intel's AI solution and enhances navigation capabilities by incorporating both LiDAR sensors and 3D sensors. It also supports voice recognition functions, allowing it to execute voice commands such as "Clean around the refrigerator."
The Grande AI washer and dryer provide a consumer-customized washing and drying experience based on AI. It analyzes frequently used courses and options by the user and prioritizes them on the control panel. It also recommends optimal courses according to weather changes, such as cloudy days or days with high fine dust levels.
The Family Hub refrigerator has won the Innovation Award for six consecutive years at the world's largest IT and home appliance exhibition (CES). This product was the industry's first in 2016 to apply AI and Internet of Things (IoT) functions, automatically recognizing over 2,100 types of food inside the refrigerator through internal cameras, enabling ingredient management.
Additionally, the Wind-Free air conditioner Gallery and Wind-Free air conditioner Wall-mounted Wide feature automatic adjustment to the user's preferred temperature and modes such as Wind-Free, cooling, and dehumidification, and can be conveniently controlled by voice commands alone.
