Followers Numbered 3.2 Million but Keep Growing
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] Joe Biden, the newly inaugurated President of the United States, began operating the official presidential Twitter account at noon (local time) on the 20th as promised.
Immediately after his inauguration, President Biden requested people to visit the official presidential account instead of the previous account he had been using. On the 14th, Biden had announced in a post on the newly created account that it would be switched to the official presidential account upon his inauguration.

As of 3:20 PM on the same day, the account had 3.2 million followers. The number increased by 1.2 million within about two hours after switching to the official account. Previously, the official presidential Twitter account during former President Donald Trump's administration, which Twitter had suspended, had 33.2 million followers.
