Gyeongnam Province Supports Employment and Industrial Accident Insurance Enrollment for Solo Self-Employed Workers
Up to 80% Support for Employment Insurance Premiums, Up to 50% Support for Industrial Accident Insurance Premiums
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do will continue its support project for employment insurance and industrial accident insurance for one-person self-employed workers this year to establish a social safety net for one-person self-employed individuals.
Employment insurance provides support such as unemployment benefits and vocational training expenses.
Industrial accident insurance supports medical care benefits and leave benefits, creating a foundation for recovery in case of involuntary business closure or work-related accidents.
The province will support 30% of employment insurance premiums for three years to reduce the burden on subscribers, and expand support for industrial accident insurance premiums from the existing two years to three years, covering up to 50%.
The target for employment insurance premium support is business owners without employees who are enrolled in the Employment Insurance for Self-Employed Workers under the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service.
Additional government support is also possible, allowing benefits of up to 80% of the insurance premiums.
The target for industrial accident insurance support is business owners without employees who are enrolled in the Industrial Accident Insurance for Small and Medium Enterprises under the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service.
All industries are eligible to enroll, and rates vary by industry.
