Gwangyang Fire Station Installs 'Stick-on Fire Extinguishers' to Prevent Winter Electrical Fires in Traditional Markets
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] On the 19th, Gwangyang Fire Station announced that it will install "stick-on fire extinguishers" on distribution panels at five traditional markets to prevent electrical fires during the winter season.
According to statistics from the National Fire Agency, a total of 65 fires occurred in traditional markets nationwide last year.
Additionally, electrical causes (such as wire insulation damage and poor wire contact) accounted for 21.7% (1,322 cases) of winter fires, making it the second most common cause of fires.
Accordingly, Gwangyang Fire Station installed "stick-on fire extinguishers" in traditional markets, where there is a large flow of people and small stores are densely packed in narrow areas, making fire suppression difficult and potentially leading to large-scale fires.
The "stick-on fire extinguisher" is suitable for Class A (ordinary), Class B (flammable liquids), and Class C (electrical) fires, and is designed to automatically react at a specific temperature (120°C) to enable effective initial extinguishing within the golden time.
