[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced the 2021 basic plan for internal audits to each institution and school on the 15th, aiming to guarantee school autonomy and expand responsible administration in the COVID-19 era to support the future education of Gwangju.
According to the Metropolitan Office of Education on the 19th, this year's internal audit plan focuses on "realizing a clean Gwangju education through autonomy and responsibility," with emphasis on ▲support audits centered on educational activities at school sites ▲strategic audits to ensure audit efficiency and transparency ▲integrity audits supporting trusted Gwangju education ▲open audits that resonate with and communicate with the educational community.
In particular, this year, the School Autonomy Audit System will be implemented targeting 47 kindergartens and elementary schools. Superintendent Jang Hwikuk of Gwangju Education announced in his New Year's address that the School Autonomy Audit System would be introduced to expand school autonomy capabilities.
The School Autonomy Audit System means that school staff take responsibility for the entire process from forming audit teams to correcting and improving results, realizing responsible administration, which the Metropolitan Office of Education expects to be the true completion of school autonomy.
