[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu City, together with the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration and Daegu Technopark, is recruiting applicant companies to support the '2021 Global Small Giants'.
According to Daegu City on the 19th, the Global Small Giants Development Project is a project where the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, local governments, and regional innovation institutions collaborate annually to discover about 200 export-oriented small and medium enterprises nationwide with innovation performance and growth potential, and nurture them as leading export companies. This year, 11 companies will be selected in the Daegu region.
The eligibility criteria are small and medium enterprises headquartered in Daegu City, with sales between 10 billion and 100 billion KRW and direct or indirect export amounts of 5 million USD or more.
Innovative companies (venture companies, Inno-Biz, Main-Biz certified companies) and companies in the service sector can apply if their sales are between 5 billion and 100 billion KRW and export amounts are 1 million USD or more.
Interested companies can apply through the Small and Medium Enterprise Export Support Center website by February 8. For the applicant companies, the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration and Daegu TP will conduct eligibility screening, on-site evaluation, and presentation evaluation, and the final selected companies will be announced in April.
Once designated as a Global Small Giant, companies will receive overseas marketing support through export vouchers worth up to 200 million KRW over four years from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. From Daegu City and Daegu TP, companies can receive support of about 25 million KRW per company through regional autonomous support programs.
