Jungnang-gu Launches 'One Household, One Person COVID-19 Test' Campaign for a Safe Lunar New Year Holiday
Operation of Temporary Screening Clinics Extended Until February 14, Aiming to Complete Testing for 30% of All Residents with an Additional 42,000 Tests Over 4 Weeks
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is promoting the ‘One Diagnosis Test per Household for Jungnang Residents’ campaign until February 14 to ensure a safe and healthy Lunar New Year holiday for its residents.
This campaign was prepared in response to the recent slight slowdown in the spread of COVID-19 within the district and the risk that the Lunar New Year holiday, known for massive nationwide travel, could become another source of COVID-19 transmission.
As of January 12, a total of 72,574 people in Jungnang-gu have been tested, averaging 210 tests per day. This figure corresponds to about 18.1% of Jungnang residents, meaning the majority of residents have not yet undergone diagnostic testing.
The district plans to have an additional 42,000 residents tested during the four-week special campaign period, aiming to complete diagnostic testing for 30% of the entire population.
First, the district will send weekly text messages to all residents containing information such as ‘COVID-19 Trend Changes and Local Status · Infection Special Cases · One Diagnosis Test per Household’ to provide the latest updates on infectious diseases and encourage participation in testing.
Additionally, informational banners will be posted at 50 major intersections and multi-use locations within the district. Furthermore, announcements will be broadcast through 153 apartment complexes and neighborhood loudspeakers to encourage more residents to participate in diagnostic testing.
Moreover, the district has extended the operation of temporary screening clinics until February 14, the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday. Originally scheduled to end on January 17, the four-week extension of the temporary screening clinics provides strong momentum for the ‘One Diagnosis Test per Household’ campaign.
Jungnang-gu operates two temporary screening clinics at Myeonmok Station Plaza (Exit 3) and Mangu Station Park (Exit 1).
Operating hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a one-hour maintenance break for disinfection from 12:30 p.m. on weekdays during which testing is temporarily suspended.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “We launched the ‘One Diagnosis Test per Household for Jungnang Residents’ campaign to ensure that residents can have a safe and healthy Lunar New Year holiday. Having as many residents as possible undergo screening tests is the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We earnestly ask that at least one person per household get tested at the temporary screening clinics, which will be operated for an extended four-week period.”
