Tesla 'Model Y' Equipped with Hankook Tire
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] It has been reported that Hankook Tire products will be equipped on Tesla's electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) 'Model Y.'
According to industry sources on the 18th, Hankook Tire is supplying 19-inch tires for Tesla's electric Model Y produced at the Shanghai factory in China. Hankook Tire has been supplying tires for Tesla's entry-level electric car Model 3 since 2016.
The Model Y is a model launched domestically 1 year and 5 months after Tesla introduced the entry-level electric car Model 3 in August 2019. The Model Y equipped with Hankook Tire products is scheduled to be sold worldwide, including China, but since the Model Y sold domestically is produced at the U.S. factory, it is highly likely that Hankook Tire products will not be included.
