Fire at Apartment in Gwangju Late at Night... 70s Found Dead

According to the fire authorities on the 17th, the fire occurred around 12:38 a.m. at the 14th floor of an apartment in Ssangchon-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
The fire was extinguished by firefighters who arrived about 40 minutes later, but it completely burned one residence and spread to the neighboring balcony, causing an estimated property damage of about 30 million won according to the fire station.
During the search after extinguishing the fire, a man in his 70s was found dead. The fire also caused a commotion as about 50 apartment residents evacuated.
