KT Partners with Seoul National University to Enhance Domestic Cloud Competitiveness
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT announced on the 17th that it will launch the ‘Seoul National University Academy Program’ to discover native cloud business models in collaboration with Seoul National University. This program was planned as part of the ‘Cloud One Team.’
Launched in November 2020 to foster the domestic cloud industry ecosystem and strengthen competitiveness, the Cloud One Team operates through ▲ECO Win-Win Support Group ▲Industry Innovation Division ▲Solution Innovation Division ▲R&D Innovation Division.
KT supports cloud infrastructure for Seoul National University’s research and startup activities. Additionally, KT provides technical consulting through its specialized technology consultants. Based on this support, Seoul National University will not only work to spread cloud technology inside and outside the university but also collaborate with KT on research and technology development.
The reason KT and Seoul National University joined hands is not only to expand domestic cloud competitiveness but also because the demand for high-performance computers within the university has surged and the use of external cloud services has increased. This program is expected to reduce computing budgets and enable flexible responses to continuously growing demand. Furthermore, practical experience with cloud computing environments used in enterprises is anticipated to enhance students’ capabilities.
