146 Cumulative Confirmed Cases from Hyojeong Nursing Hospital Outbreak
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] In Gwangju Metropolitan City, 10 new COVID-19 cases have surged from infection routes including Hyojeong Nursing Hospital and previously confirmed patients.
According to Gwangju City on the 16th, as of 2 PM that day, 10 additional confirmed cases were diagnosed, classified as Gwangju cases 1419 to 1428.
Among these confirmed cases, 8 were workers at Hyojeong Nursing Hospital and others, who tested positive in the 5th proactive PCR test. PCR tests have been conducted every three days at Hyojeong Nursing Hospital since the 3rd, and so far, 47 people have been notified as positive.
The cumulative confirmed cases originating from Hyojeong Nursing Hospital have reached 146.
One contact of Gwangju case 1390, confirmed on the 13th (Gwangju case 1428), also tested positive. The infection route of Gwangju case 1390 has not been identified.
The remaining one case (Gwangju 1426) also has an unidentified infection route.
Meanwhile, cohort isolation measures at Evergreen Nursing Hospital, where a large-scale cluster infection occurred, will be lifted starting today.
