Gwangju City Announces Comprehensive Internal Audit Plan... Published on Website
Audit of 23 Agencies Including Headquarters, Directly Affiliated Organizations, Business Offices, and Public Corporations/Public Agencies
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Gwangju Metropolitan City Audit Committee has established the '2021 Internal Audit Comprehensive Plan,' notified each institution, and disclosed it on the city’s homepage on the 15th.
This year’s internal audit aims to "eradicate corruption and realize a clean city administration" by focusing its capabilities on ▲ trustworthy institution operation audits centered on problem improvement ▲ intensive audits to enhance transparency in the execution of public funds such as subsidies ▲ preventive consulting audits ▲ and field-centered audits for citizen safety.
To this end, comprehensive audits will be conducted on 15 institutions including ▲ seven headquarters, business offices, and affiliated institutions ▲ one public enterprise ▲ four foundation institutions ▲ and three autonomous districts, along with eight specific audits such as mechanical parking lot management status, social welfare facilities, large construction sites, and a full investigation of recruitment corruption in local public institutions.
In particular, since mechanical parking lots have a high possibility of accidents due to poor management such as aging and neglect of malfunctions, to prevent this in advance, the management status of 749 mechanical parking lots in the jurisdiction will be inspected for 27 days starting next month. Additionally, two specific audits on large construction projects will be conducted to verify the prevention of poor construction and the adequacy of worker safety facilities on-site.
Furthermore, proactive responses will be made in socially concerned areas such as social welfare and subsidies, and policies for regular public service discipline inspection activities to prevent budget waste through prior consulting, support active administration, and realize a clean city administration will be established and implemented.
Moreover, while activating the active administration exemption system to protect public officials who work diligently even if minor mistakes are found in the process of actively promoting work for the public interest, a zero-tolerance principle will be applied to passive administration such as negligence and carelessness.
