Jangseong-gun Announces New Systems and Policies Changing from the New Year
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Dooseok) announced on the 15th that a total of 39 new or revised systems and policies will be implemented in 2021 across six major sectors including jobs and economy, agriculture, forestry and livestock, culture, tourism and education, health, welfare and women, construction and environment, and safety and administration.
First, in the new year, the local currency Jangseong Sarang Gift Certificate will be issued in two types: paper and card, and it is expected that usage rate and convenience will be further expanded.
The rural bus, known as the "citizens' feet," will reorganize its routes reflecting the changed local conditions. The new routes will be applied starting next month.
At Hwangryong Market, an odd-even day parking system will be operated to resolve parking difficulties and traffic inconvenience.
Increased support for farmers is also notable. The beneficiaries of the Public Interest Allowance for Farmers and Fishermen have been expanded, and the support amount for the Agricultural Salary System has been raised.
Additional support is also available when purchasing organic fertilizer produced in Jangseong.
In the education sector, which continues the tradition of "Munbulyeo Jangseong," the budget for the Jangseong Scholarship Foundation (Foundation) has nearly doubled (about 150 million KRW), and the foundation recently held a board meeting to approve the relaxation of scholarship application qualifications and the establishment of new selection fields.
The "21st Century Jangseong Academy," the world's longest-running social education program, is being conducted twice a month both on-site and online (via Jangseong-gun YouTube channel) through a pilot operation combining non-face-to-face methods since this month.
In the health, welfare, and women’s sector pursuing a happy life for all citizens, the criteria for moving-in incentive support and basic pension payment have been expanded, and the support obligation criteria for basic livelihood benefits have been abolished (applicable to elderly, single-parent families, and persons with disabilities).
The county reduces the economic burden of childcare through expanded support for childcare services, implementation of meningococcal vaccination for infants and toddlers, increased newborn care support amounts, and support for purchasing childcare products for families with multiple children.
Also, it is worth noting that the coverage of the citizen safety insurance for all residents has been expanded to suit local circumstances.
