Seoul Reports 127 New COVID-19 Cases Yesterday... Third Consecutive Day of Decline
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Seoul has continued to decline for three consecutive days.
As of midnight on the 15th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul increased by 127 from the previous day, bringing the total cumulative confirmed cases to 22,183.
The daily new confirmed cases in Seoul have remained below 200 since the 7th. In particular, the numbers have steadily decreased over the past three days: 167 on the 11th, 152 on the 12th, 134 on the 13th, and 127 on the 14th.
On the previous day, a cluster infection was confirmed at a medical institution and church located in Seodaemun-gu, with a total of 10 related confirmed cases identified so far. Additionally, there were new confirmed cases related to a religious facility in Gwanak-gu (3 cases, cumulative 22), Dongbu Detention Center in Songpa-gu (cumulative 1,168), a residential and nursing facility in Seongdong-gu (cumulative 19), and Dongdaemun-gu Station (cumulative 12).
Other cases include 61 from contact with confirmed patients, 6 from contact with confirmed patients in other cities or provinces, 5 imported cases, and 40 cases with infection routes under investigation.
The death toll increased by 2, totaling 254.
So far, 16,718 people in Seoul have been declared recovered and discharged, while 5,411 are currently undergoing isolation treatment.
