The police decided to transfer the case, judging that Hwang’s drug and theft charges were substantiated.
Since this year, the police have had the authority to conclude the first investigation, so when transferring a case to the prosecution, they do not include 'prosecution or non-prosecution opinions'; if it is a prosecution opinion, the case is transferred, and if it is a non-prosecution opinion, it is not transferred.
The Yongsan Police Station received the case related to Hwang’s theft charges from the Gangnam Police Station and merged it with the investigation of Hwang’s drug use case.
Earlier, a woman named Kim and a man named Nam, who were well acquainted with Hwang, were booked on drug use charges at the Gangnam Police Station in December last year, investigated, and sent to the prosecution with a prosecution opinion.
During this process, Kim reportedly testified that "Hwang came into our house at the end of November last year and stole luxury clothing and shoes."
Nam reportedly attempted an extreme act in mid-last month and lost consciousness. Nam was confirmed to be a member of the largest drug organization in the country.
Oh (29), who is known to have married Hwang in October last year, was also reported to have died by suicide on the 24th of last month.
