"Unpacked Disappoints" Samsung Logo Appears on Leaked Galaxy S21 Materials
Press Release Posted Then Removed from German Newsroom
Official Images Containing Spec Sheets and Detailed Specifications Also Leaked
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Leaks of Galaxy S21 information have continued right up until the Galaxy S21 Unpacked event. An incident occurred where the Galaxy S21 Ultra press release was uploaded in full on Samsung Electronics' German newsroom and then deleted.
On the 13th (local time), Roland Quandt, editor-in-chief of IT media WinFuture, shared on Twitter an archive link containing detailed information about the Galaxy S21 Ultra that was uploaded on the Samsung Electronics German newsroom on the 13th.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra is the first in the S series to support the S Pen and features a matte metal frame with Gorilla Glass Victus applied to both the front and back of the device. It has a 6.8-inch screen with a WQHD+ display, and the screen refresh rate adjusts from 10Hz to 120Hz depending on the content. The screen brightness is also 25% brighter than its predecessor at maximum brightness.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra is equipped with a 108-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and two telephoto lenses. The front camera supports 4K video recording. For vloggers, simultaneous front and rear shooting and multi-camera shooting functions are introduced. The European model is also equipped with the Exynos 2100.
The pre-order period is from the 14th to the 28th. In Germany, pre-order customers for the Galaxy S21 Ultra will receive Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy SmartTag as gifts. Pre-order customers for the Galaxy S21 and S21+ will receive Galaxy Buds Live and SmartTag as gifts.
Twitter user Evan Blass also revealed numerous images summarizing the Galaxy S21 features, presumed to be official materials. The spec sheet posted on the homepage is also included.
The displays of the Galaxy S21 and S21+ are Full HD and support a 120Hz refresh rate. The rear cameras consist of a 64-megapixel telephoto, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 12-megapixel main triple camera. The front camera is 10 megapixels.
Battery capacities by model are 4000mAh for the Galaxy S21, 4800mAh for the Galaxy S21+, and 5000mAh for the Galaxy S21 Ultra. All three models support 25W super-fast charging. Earphones and charging adapters are not included in the package; only a USB-C type cable is provided. Smart Clear Covers, Silicone Covers, and Standing Covers will be released together, and the Ultra case allows for S Pen storage.

This new product had an unusually high number of leaks. On the 4th, an overseas YouTuber uploaded a review video of the Galaxy Buds Pro on YouTube. In August last year, a domestic YouTuber uploaded a review revealing the actual Galaxy Note20 a day before the 'Galaxy Note20' Unpacked event, causing controversy. During periods of heightened interest in new products, information leaks through partners and others are difficult to control. Although leaks related to new products are considered a marketing method, excessive pre-release leaks recently have been acting as a factor that diminishes attention to the Unpacked event.
