[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 7th, Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, participated in the 'Children's Traffic Safety Relay Challenge' to establish a culture of traffic safety within school zones.
The Children's Traffic Safety Relay Challenge is promoted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in response to the recent increase in child fatalities in school zones. It aims to raise social awareness about children's traffic safety, establish a culture prioritizing child protection, and build national consensus on preventing child traffic accidents. The campaign is spreading nationwide among central government agencies, local governments, and civic groups.
In a relay format where participants nominate the next participant via SNS, Lee Jeong-hoon, nominated by Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, took part in the challenge holding a sign with the phrase "Stop at 1, Look both ways at 2, Wait for 3 seconds, Prevent with 4" along with the 'Safety Bracket Pose.' He then nominated Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, and Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, as the next participants.

Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, stated, "To prevent child traffic accidents, citizens' awareness must mature, and I ask everyone to participate starting with small daily practices for children's safety." He added, "We will continue to do our best to establish a culture of safe driving aiming for zero accidents in school zones."
