Gwangju Hyojeong Nursing Hospital Reports Consecutive COVID-19 Cases for Five Days
Additional Confirmed Cases Continue in Proactive Testing Every Three Days
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] At Gwangju Hyojeong Nursing Hospital, COVID-19 confirmed cases have occurred for five consecutive days.
According to Gwangju City on the 13th, as of 2 p.m. that day, 13 out of 15 newly confirmed cases were either employees or patients of Hyojeong Nursing Hospital.
The quarantine authorities plan to transfer 9 confirmed patients and 4 staff members from Hyojeong Nursing Hospital to other facilities during the afternoon.
Also, to reduce density, uninfected residents will be prioritized for classification into close contact and non-contact groups, and plans for full transfer are being discussed with other hospitals.
So far, 82 confirmed patients have been transferred to Gwangju and 11 other regions, and 9 are awaiting transfer.
Among confirmed staff, 25 have completed transfer, and 4 more are scheduled to be moved.
At Hyojeong Nursing Hospital, proactive PCR testing has been conducted every three days for workers and patients since last week. The patients and staff confirmed positive on this day tested positive on the fourth test.
From the 9th, new confirmed cases have continuously been added through proactive testing for five consecutive days. The daily numbers are 4 on the 9th, 16 on the 10th, 3 on the 11th, 2 on the 12th, and 13 on the 13th (still being tallied).
The cumulative confirmed cases originating from Hyojeong Nursing Hospital have increased to 133.
