The meeting was attended by Mayor Lee Kang-deok and pastors representing the local Christian community, proceeding with explanations of local issues related to COVID-19 and listening to the opinions of the Christian community.
In his greeting, Mayor Lee said, "I sincerely thank the Christian leaders for their cooperation in making the difficult decision to switch most Sunday services online to prevent the spread of local infections," and emphasized, "Quarantine measures chosen voluntarily by individuals are more important than isolation and lockdown imposed by or for someone."
An Soon-mo, president of the Pohang Christian Association, said, "Although the unprecedented COVID-19 situation continues to be a difficult time that everyone struggles to endure, the Christian community will continue to take the lead in actively cooperating with quarantine measures and do its best to overcome the crisis together with citizens."
