Yangcheon-gu Signs Inter-District Agreement for Anyangcheon Landmark Development Project
Efficient Mutual Cooperation Among Districts Managing Anyangcheon (Yangcheon, Geumcheon, Guro, Yeongdeungpo)... Promoting Creation of a Landmark Representing the Southwest Area Through Eco-Friendly Ecological Restoration
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) has signed a non-face-to-face business agreement for the Anyangcheon revitalization project among the four autonomous districts in the southwestern area of Seoul that share Anyangcheon (Yangcheon, Guro, Geumcheon, Yeongdeungpo).
The signing ceremony, held via online video conference, was attended by Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, Lee Sung, Mayor of Guro-gu, Yoo Sung-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, and Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, who agreed to work together to create a better Anyangcheon.
Through long-term business consultations, a systematic "Anyangcheon Management Master Plan" will be established and implemented. The agreement period is set from January 12, 2021, to December 31, 2030, during which nature-friendly ecological restoration projects and the creation of various green spaces will be promoted.
The target area covers a 15 km section on the right bank of Anyangcheon from Kia Bridge in Geumcheon-gu to the confluence with the Han River in Yeongdeungpo-gu, and a 6.7 km section on the left bank from Guil Station in Guro-gu to Yanghwa Bridge in Yangcheon-gu. The plan is to secure pedestrian continuity through walking trails and small riverside paths, establishing a circular circulation system within the section to develop it as a landmark representing the southwestern region of Seoul.
Additionally, joint efforts will be made to ▲establish a comprehensive management plan for Anyangcheon ▲create the "50-ri Water Light Rose Road" along Anyangcheon ▲conduct joint surveys and removal of invasive plants in Anyangcheon ▲protect wild birds in Anyangcheon and manage avian influenza in connection ▲refrain from excessive overlapping installation of specific facilities. To this end, joint working-level meetings will be held regularly at least once a year.
