View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Sharon] The Gyeongnam Province Wildfire Prevention Headquarters reported that at around 3 PM on the 12th, a wildfire broke out near a warehouse at San 65, Jangsan-ri, Jeongdong-myeon, Sacheon-si. They deployed three wildfire suppression helicopters (Gyeongnam Province), four wildfire suppression vehicles, and over 80 wildfire suppression personnel to extinguish the fire.
The strong winds at the wildfire site and difficult access posed challenges to firefighting efforts, but the fire was extinguished through a prompt response.
The fire destroyed approximately 3,000㎡ (about 907 pyeong) of brushwood, causing an estimated property damage of around 5 million KRW (according to fire department estimates).
The fire department completed initial extinguishing at around 3:47 PM.
The forestry authorities plan to conduct an on-site investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.

Yoo Jaewon, Director of the Forestry Policy Division of Gyeongsangnam-do, urged, “In areas adjacent to mountains, please refrain from burning activities such as garbage incineration, and if you discover a wildfire, immediately report it by calling ‘119’ without an area code or contact the city/county forestry department.”
