Thinkware's AR solution is pre-installed in Chery Automobile's new models TIGGO 8 Plus and JIETU X70 Plus.
The supply project was carried out in collaboration with Chinese automotive electronics company Desay SV. Thinkware was responsible for the AR solution part and conducted customized development of the AR solution based on years of know-how built on domestic navigation product technology development and operation.
Previously, in 2014, Thinkware commercialized the augmented reality solution 'Extreme AR,' which combined graphics with the actual screen of the navigation product iNavi X1.
According to Thinkware, through the automotive electronics division launched in 2019, it developed and unveiled a solution that integrates AR and navigation functions, which can be used with its own and other companies' head-up displays (HUD), digital clusters, and navigation systems.
The AR solution supplied this time has a function that recognizes real-time road conditions and lanes based on the original digital video recorder (DVR) footage without separate location information and aligns it with the driving road. Thinkware explained that hypervisor technology supporting screen switching between the digital cluster on the car dashboard and navigation according to user preference was also applied.
