The National Police Agency announced on the 11th that a total of five people applied after the position of Director of the National Investigation Headquarters was publicly recruited through the website starting from the 1st.
The identities of the applicants have not been disclosed, but the National Police Agency stated that these five candidates are either legal professionals with experience as judges or lawyers, or former police officers.
One of them will be finally appointed following the order of "document screening → physical examination → comprehensive evaluation → recommendation by the Commissioner General of the National Police Agency → appointment by the President" in accordance with the Police Act and the Police Officer Appointment Decree.
The National Police Agency explained, "The selection of the Director of the National Investigation Headquarters is expected to be completed within February according to the established procedures."
