Kim Geum-ran Appointed as the 25th Director of Gwangju Meteorological Administration
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration announced on the 11th that Kim Geum-ran (56), a senior civil servant, will take office as the 25th director.
Director Kim graduated from Ewha Womans University with a degree in Science Education and earned a master's degree in Atmospheric Sciences from Seoul National University.
Since starting her public service career at the Korea Meteorological Administration in 1988, she has served as Director of Satellite Planning, Creative Administration Officer, Director of the National Climate Data Center, Director of the Meteorological and Climate Talent Development Institute, and Director of the Meteorological Service Promotion Bureau.
Director Kim is recognized for her expertise in integrated services such as climate data and smart cities, having held key positions within the Meteorological Administration.
