In the field of elderly welfare, the focus was on expanding basic pension payments, supporting senior jobs and social activities, providing customized care services for the elderly, expanding the safety net for elderly living alone, and strengthening the operation of the senior comprehensive welfare center.
In the field of disability welfare, projects will be promoted focusing on support for disability pensions and allowances, expansion of jobs for the disabled, support for disabled activities, and support for disability welfare facilities.
First, in the elderly welfare sector, a budget of 138.8 billion KRW, an increase of 13.1 billion KRW from last year, will be invested to improve the quality of life through supporting the elderly's life stability, health promotion, leisure activities, and social participation.
The number of basic pension recipients for low-income elderly aged 65 and over will increase by about 1,000 from last year to approximately 30,000 people, with a total support of 102 billion KRW. A budget of 11 billion KRW will be invested in senior jobs and social activity support projects to provide social participation opportunities to 3,004 people and establish a foundation for a vibrant old age.
In the field of disability welfare, a budget of 56.5 billion KRW, an increase of 2.2 billion KRW from last year, has been prepared to focus on stabilizing the lives of the disabled and promoting welfare.
98 billion KRW will be invested in support such as disability pensions, disability allowances, and medical expenses for the disabled; 8 billion KRW in support for disabled activities; and 2 billion KRW in support for people with developmental disabilities, aiming to stabilize the lives of the disabled, support independence, and promote social participation.
Additionally, 29.3 billion KRW will be provided to 33 facilities including disability welfare facilities and Hansen's disease facilities, and 2.9 billion KRW will be allocated to reinforce the functions of 12 facilities such as residential, medical, and vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled, striving to promote disability welfare, create a foundation for independence, and provide stable living spaces.
