A 'Warm Heart' Sent by a Fully Recovered COVID-19 Patient from Guro-gu?
Thank You Letters Delivered to Former Staff Who Helped Overcome Difficult Times Before Discharge from Community Treatment Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] On the 6th, a warm letter was delivered to the Guro-gu Public Health Center.
The letter's author is a resident who was diagnosed with COVID-19 last month, admitted to the Guro-gu Residential Treatment Center, and discharged after being declared fully recovered.
The letter, filling two A4 pages, contained unforgettable experiences from the ten days spent at the Residential Treatment Center.
The writer expressed gratitude, saying that although they were initially distressed and anxious after the positive diagnosis, they were able to overcome the difficult period thanks to the meticulous care and support of the staff at the Residential Treatment Center.
They also wrote their hope that COVID-19 will end soon so that everyone can return to a happy daily life.
The COVID-19 task force staff who received the letter smiled brightly for the first time in a while, feeling the worth of their tireless efforts day and night, giving up weekends for a year.
Moon Young-shin, director of the Guro-gu Public Health Center, said, “There are times when we get exhausted from the fierce battle against the virus on the front lines of quarantine, but the warm encouragement messages from residents give us strength again,” and added, “We will continue to devote all our efforts to COVID-19 response to protect the health and safety of residents.”

To the teachers at Guro Residential Treatment Center,
Hello.
I am a confirmed patient who was admitted to the Guro Residential Treatment Center.
I wanted to express my gratitude fully on beautiful paper, but I came in a hurry and couldn’t bring any, so I am greeting you like this.
Thanks to you, I was able to be discharged very healthily without any lack.
Thank you very much. I came around Christmas, welcomed the New Year, and am now returning home.
When I was first diagnosed, I was overwhelmed with tremendous anxiety and depression, unable to look around, sometimes angry and often crying. As time passed, I began to notice the teachers who were having an even harder time than me.
Sometimes through phone calls or voices over the speaker, sometimes through unseen hands, you cared for me warmly and attentively, and I am truly grateful beyond words.
The teacher who called every morning to ask about my condition, the teachers who prepared and delivered breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the teacher who gave daily announcements over the broadcast, the teachers who brought necessary medicine, the teachers who meticulously disinfected and managed everything from tests to waste, and the teachers who worked late inside the center ? thanks to all of you, I was able to return to my daily life in good health.
I will not forget the care I received here and will share warm hearts with others as well.
The ten days I spent at the Guro Residential Treatment Center were a precious time that made me grateful for my life before COVID-19 and everything I have enjoyed until now.
I hope COVID-19 ends soon so we can return to the happy daily life again.
Once again, I sincerely thank the teachers who quietly work hard behind the scenes.
Wishing you always good health and a very happy New Year.
