The Parking Lot Opening and Sharing Project is a project where owners of large buildings, apartments, schools, religious facilities' attached parking lots, and off-street parking lots open their parking spaces during quiet hours when they are not in use, allowing residents to share them.
Daegu City has currently secured 2,712 parking spaces at 64 locations. This year, the project aims to open more than 1,000 spaces at 38 locations.
If a building owner participates in this project and opens at least 10 parking spaces for a minimum of 2 years, Daegu City and the district/county offices will support facility improvement costs such as parking barriers, CCTV, and floor paving work up to 20 million KRW for the facility.
Additionally, to ensure both building owners and parking lot users can park with peace of mind, parking lot liability insurance premiums are also supported. If participants extend the opening period (for 2 years) after the initial period expires, they can receive up to 5 million KRW for facility maintenance costs.
The opened parking spaces are maintained and managed by the building owner during the agreed period through an agreement between the building owner and the relevant district/county office. Parking fees are free in principle, but for detailed information, inquiries can be made to the traffic department of the district/county office.
