View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] Attention is focused on the level of punishment for BJ A (26, Ttaengcho), who was urgently arrested on charges of forcibly molesting a woman in her 20s with an intellectual disability. As social outrage is growing over the criminal charges of exploiting and mocking a disabled woman for his own profit rather than protecting her, public opinion is calling for severe punishment.
On the 5th, a post titled "BJ Ttaengcho taking a level 3 intellectually disabled person to a nude broadcast" was uploaded on an online community. The author exposed, "I want to publicize the atrocious acts of a malicious BJ who uses intellectual disability for profit." A nude broadcast refers to a type of obscene broadcast where the broadcaster removes clothes during an online personal broadcast platform to receive donations and other support.
The author claimed, "He takes someone with no cognitive ability at all, buys them a bowl of jajangmyeon all day, receives paid items through his broadcast, and even makes them react," adding, "Not only that, he took her to OOTV and made her do a nude broadcast (internet adult broadcast)."
He continued, "Even now, the BJ is brazen and mocks viewers who point out the use of intellectually disabled people for profit," expressing indignation, "I want to publicize the atrocious acts of this malicious BJ who uses intellectual disability for profit."
Citizens were outraged by this exposure. Kim, a man in his 30s, said, "This is an unforgivable atrocity. Didn't he exploit a woman with an intellectual disability for his own profit?" and raised his voice, "I hope he is punished severely."
Another office worker in his 30s, Park, said, "I hope he receives at least a life sentence," emphasizing, "This is not a simple crime but a crime that mocked a human life." He added, "I also hope the state provides various support to the victim." The broadcasting platform used by A judged the situation to be serious and permanently suspended A's broadcast channel.

In addition, the police applied for warrants for two accomplices who were urgently arrested on charges of producing the internet broadcast.
This crime is punished under a special law. According to the related law (Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, Article 6: Rape and Forcible Molestation of Disabled Persons), such crimes can be punished with a maximum of life imprisonment.
The punishment provisions state that "A person who commits the crime of rape under Article 297 of the Criminal Act against a person with physical or mental disabilities shall be punished by life imprisonment or imprisonment for not less than seven years," and also, "A person who commits any of the following acts by assault or intimidation against a person with physical or mental disabilities shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than five years." The acts include forcible molestation and sexual assault.
Regarding the nude broadcast through online broadcasting, the same law (Article 14: Filming Using Cameras, etc.) stipulates that "A person who films the body of another person that may arouse sexual desire or shame against the will of the subject using a camera or other similar device shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than seven years or a fine not exceeding 50 million won."

Some in the legal community view this case as having a bad nature and high social condemnation. A legal official said, "The level of punishment for the criminal charges (imprisonment of more than three years) is high, and there is a concern of flight, so I believe an arrest warrant was requested," emphasizing, "Above all, considering the extent of the victim's harm, who has an intellectual disability, and the potential for social condemnation, I believe appropriate punishment will be carried out accordingly."
