The Election Commission: TBS '#1Hapsida' Is Not Pre-Election Campaigning
"There is a possibility of being mistaken for promotion of Party No. 1"
The National Election Commission has determined that TBS's '#1Hapsida' campaign does not constitute pre-election campaigning.
According to the office of Yoon Doo-hyun of the People Power Party on the 9th, the Election Commission's Cyber Election Crime Response Center stated that it has "closed the case" regarding the review of whether this campaign violated election laws. While acknowledging that "there is a possibility of misunderstanding that it promotes the party with candidate number 1," they explained that "considering comprehensively the fact that TBS stopped the campaign and that it is difficult to see the campaign as currently violating election laws."

'#1Hapsida' is a campaign launched by TBS since November last year aiming to reach 1 million YouTube subscribers. Program hosts such as Joo Jin-woo, Kim Gyu-ri, and Kim Eo-jun participated, but controversy arose as the conservative opposition raised issues of political bias. TBS halted the campaign on the 4th. The People Power Party's Media Special Committee filed a complaint with the prosecution on the 5th, accusing the campaign participants of pre-election campaigning.
