[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] The Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education will announce the successful candidates for the standardized region general high schools (including autonomous public high schools) by school district at 10 a.m. on the 8th through the Office of Education website.
Out of a total recruitment of 12,251 students across 62 schools in 5 school districts, 11,648 were within the quota and 39 were outside the quota (26 children of merit recipients, 13 special admissions), with a total of 11,636 students accepted.
By school district, District 1 (Changwon-si Seongsan and Uichang-gu) recruited 3,519 students across 19 schools, with 3,276 applicants, resulting in 243 vacancies; District 2 (Masan Happo and Hoewon-gu) recruited 2,254 students across 13 schools, with 2,082 applicants, resulting in 172 vacancies.
District 3 (Jinju-si) recruited 2,162 students across 11 schools, with 2,213 applicants, exceeding by 51; District 4 (Gimhae) recruited 2,186 students across 12 schools, with 2,131 applicants, resulting in 55 vacancies; District 5 (Geoje) recruited 2,130 students across 7 schools, with 1,946 applicants, resulting in 184 vacancies.
The successful candidates should visit their assigned schools on the 18th to receive enrollment registration guidance and must complete registration by the 20th.
Schools that did not fill their recruitment quotas will conduct additional recruitment from the 13th to the 18th.
Hong Jeong-hee, Director of Curriculum, stated, "The standardized region admission application and assignment are conducted through the NEIS (National Education Information System) high school admission program, and all processes are fairly carried out through the deliberation of the High School Admission Lottery Management Committee."
