Shooting Cats with Arrows and Boasting Photos with 'Kkilkkil'... Public Outrage Over 'Abuse Open Chat Room'
"Shot a Cat with an Arrow for Being Noisy"
"Petition to Investigate Open Chat Room for Cruelly Abusing Cats" Appears on Blue House Petition Site
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Recently, a KakaoTalk 'Open Chat Room' where stray cats were brutally abused and related photos and videos were shared has sparked public outrage. It is reported that one member of this chat room shot a cat with an arrow and killed it because it was noisy, then took a photo of the dead cat's skull and shared it in the chat room.
On the 6th, a post urging strong punishment was uploaded on social networking services (SNS) stating, "There are people abusing stray cats in an open chat room."
According to the writer, in an anonymously operated open chat room, Mr. A and others killed stray cats and shared photos and videos. At that time, an acquaintance in the chat room copied the screen and sent it to the writer.
The writer raised their voice, saying, "(Mr. A and others) shot the cat with an arrow and killed it because it was noisy crying every night, then brought the skull bones home, took photos, and shared them in the open chat room," adding, "It is heartbreaking enough that they live on the streets, but is it acceptable to do this to innocent animals that cannot speak?"
The video attached to the post shows a black cat trapped in a metal cage struggling to escape. In particular, a man is heard chuckling at the cat's desperate movements.
The writer said, "The man's laughter is chilling. Is it okay to commit such acts believing that anonymity is guaranteed in an open chat?" and urged, "Do not just read and pass by this incident; please join forces to raise public awareness."
The writer also revealed the chat contents from the open chat room. In this room, members exchanged conversations such as "Cats don't taste good, what flavor do they have?", "Playing with cats is fun," and "Besides enjoying causing pain to others, they also harass and rape women and have dirty sexual desires, so they seem like 'Gang Ho-soon and Lee Chun-jae' types."
In relation to this, on the 7th, a petition titled "Please investigate and punish the group open chat room that brutally abuses and eats cats" was posted on the Blue House National Petition Board. As of 9:30 PM that day, the petition had received over 18,400 signatures.

The petitioner expressed outrage, saying, "There are demons in the KakaoTalk open chat room. They shoot stray cats with bows because they dislike their crying, break their skulls, bring them home, display them, take photos, boast about it, and laugh on KakaoTalk, claiming it is fun," and pleaded, "Please isolate these demons from society."
