'Themed Street Travel'... Goyang-si Produces Two Types of Street Maps
From Alleyway Eateries to Secondhand Shopping: Your Guide to Tourism Information
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Goyang City in Gyeonggi Province has created street maps guiding Bamridan-Bonnetgil and Siksadong Secondhand Street.
On the 7th, Goyang City announced, "The two types of street maps were produced with a 'street'-centered theme to assist tourists' convenience and revitalize local tourism."
The maps include information on unique alley shops, recommended courses to enjoy in nearby areas, and representative tourist attractions of Goyang City. The Bamridan-Bonnetgil street map introduces the new charm of Bamridan-gil under the concept of 'Encountering a Quiet Sensibility.'
Visitors can leisurely stroll and enjoy the area like a walk, exploring restaurants, workshops, and antique accessory shops around the residential area of Bamgasi Village in Jeongbalsan-dong. Initially called Bonnetgil, the area became better known as Bamridan-gil as the commercial district expanded.
The Siksadong Secondhand Street was formed as secondhand product stores gradually appeared around Gyeondalsan-ro. The map concept for this street is 'Exciting Secondhand Street - Treasure Trove for Fashion People.' Visitors can enjoy retro shopping while discovering various types of secondhand goods.
The city's Cultural Heritage Tourism Division stated, "We plan to develop tourist courses utilizing city tours and cultural tourism guides to revitalize alley commercial districts and attract tourists."
The two street maps, which will serve as tourist guides for Bamridan-gil, Bonnetgil, and Siksadong Secondhand Street, will be available at the Goyang Tourism Information Center, Goyang City Hall, and civil service offices of each district office.
They can also be requested by mail through the Goyang City Cultural Tourism website (www.goyang.go.kr/visitgoyang/).
