43 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases in Food Factory in Yangju, Gyeonggi 'Cluster Infection'
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 6th that a cluster infection of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) occurred at food factory A in the region.
Among the employees working at the factory, one person was confirmed positive on the 5th. Health authorities conducted comprehensive testing on 232 factory employees. A total of 42 tested positive. Of these, 19 were from Yangju, 17 from Uijeongbu, 5 from Dongducheon, and 1 from Gimpo. The number of confirmed cases related to the factory increased to 43, including the one confirmed on the 5th.
Results for 163 people have been received, and the remaining 69 are awaiting test results.

To prevent further spread, health authorities conducted thorough disinfection at company A. Epidemiological investigations are underway for the confirmed cases. Based on the investigation results, health authorities are expanding COVID-19 testing for contacts.
