Incheon International Airport Corporation Files Lawsuit Against Sky72 for Golf Course Land Return
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Incheon International Airport Corporation has filed a lawsuit against the golf course operator Sky72, demanding the return of land and other claims.
According to industry sources on the 6th, Incheon Airport Corporation filed a lawsuit at the Incheon District Court on the 4th, requesting the return of land occupied by Sky72 and the transfer of ownership of the golf course.
Sky72 has leased land including the site of Incheon Airport's 5th runway and the Sinbul area from Incheon Airport Corporation since 2005, and has developed and operated a golf course and clubhouse. Incheon Airport Corporation had agreed through a usage implementation agreement that upon the contract's expiration in 2020, the golf course and clubhouse would be transferred free of charge.

Subsequently, as the contract period with Sky72 approached its end and construction of the 5th runway was delayed, the corporation conducted a competitive bidding last year and selected Shilla Leisure as the new operator to run the golf course starting January 1 of this year.
