Ministry of Education to Invest 854.6 Billion KRW in Academic Research Support Projects This Year
Increased by 55.9 Billion KRW Compared to the Previous Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Ministry of Education will provide approximately 850 billion KRW to support academic researchers in fields such as humanities, social sciences, and science and engineering.
The Ministry of Education announced the "2021 Comprehensive Plan for Academic Research Support Projects" on the 7th.
According to the plan, a total of 854.6 billion KRW will be invested in 34 support projects this year, an increase of 55.9 billion KRW compared to the previous year. It plans to support 14,627 projects across various fields including humanities, Korean studies, and science and engineering.
The key focus areas are ▲ Strengthening support for early-career researchers (393.7 billion KRW) ▲ Expanding university research infrastructure (252.0 billion KRW) ▲ Balanced development of academic disciplines (132.9 billion KRW) ▲ Establishing academic foundations (22.9 billion KRW).
