[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is recruiting the 9th Dobong-gu Youth Participation Committee ‘Neulsolgil’ from the 2nd to the 30th of this month.
‘Neulsolgil’ is an institutional organization established to allow youth to actively participate in the process of creating and implementing youth policies in Dobong-gu, meaning ‘youth as green as evergreen pine trees.’
Youth aged 9 to 24 residing or attending school in Dobong-gu (born between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 1997) are eligible to apply, with approximately 40 positions available.
Youth wishing to apply can download the application form, self-introduction letter, policy proposal, and personal information consent form from the Dobong-gu Office or Ssangmun-dong Youth Culture House websites, complete them, and submit via email (gidal3733@naver.com) or visit the Ssangmun-dong Youth Culture House in person to submit. (Operating hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM)
The final successful candidates will be announced at the end of February on the Ssangmun-dong Youth Culture House website and will serve as members of the Dobong-gu Youth Participation Committee from the appointment date until December this year. However, schedules may change due to COVID-19 and institutional circumstances.
The Dobong-gu Youth Participation Committee monitors, advises, and evaluates youth-related policies and projects in the child-friendly city of Dobong-gu and is organizing and operating the 3rd Dobong-gu Youth Participatory Budgeting this year.
According to these activities, the district plans to provide special benefits such as issuing a ‘Certificate of Appointment’ from the Dobong-gu Mayor, awarding commendations to outstanding participants (model youth), and granting volunteer hours for participation in volunteer activities.

Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu expressed expectations for the successful launch of this committee, stating, “We will spare no institutional support to enable children and youth to participate in policy decisions as subjects of rights.”
