Yangsan-si, Construction Begins on 3 Sports Facilities Selected for Life SOC Public Contest Project

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Yangsan City, Gyeongnam, announced on the 5th that it will begin construction in January on three projects selected in the 2019 Living SOC public contest: Bandabi Sports Center, Community-Oriented National Sports Center, and Open Multipurpose Gymnasium.
The Bandabi Sports Center will be built on the first floor above ground within the Design Park in Mulgeum-eup, covering a total area of 2,724㎡, including a swimming pool for the disabled. It will serve not only the rehabilitation and health promotion of about 16,000 disabled residents in the area but also as a sports facility accessible to all citizens.
The Community-Oriented National Sports Center is planned to be constructed in Seokgye-ri, Sangbuk-myeon, with two basement floors, two floors above ground, and a swimming pool, covering a total area of 3,017㎡.
The Open Multipurpose Gymnasium will also be built in Seokgye-ri, Sangbuk-myeon, with three floors above ground and a multipurpose gymnasium, covering a total area of 2,826㎡. All three projects aim for completion in December.

Mayor Kim Il-gwon said, “We plan to develop sports facilities in Yangsan, which is continuously growing, to meet the demand for citizens' sports activities,” adding, “We hope citizens look forward to a healthier Yangsan with an improved quality of life.”
